Many people get their knowledge on IT security and privacy topics from the media: they read articles and forum posts, receive advice online, or watch films and TV series where topics like hacking and data analysis are portrayed. However, false information is often conveyed or behaviors are unrealistically depicted, potentially leading people to develop a misguided understanding, which may result in incorrect behaviors. For this reason, we are interested in how various topics are represented in the media and the question of whether and how people learn from and with media in the context of IT security.
