Digital participation for all requires inclusive IT security solutions – but what should they look like?
Health, banking, dating, education – more and more areas of our society are becoming increasingly digitalized. This makes digital participation an important component of overall social participation. For people with disabilities, access to digital services – and thus digital participation – is often hindered, as their needs are usually scarcely considered during the development of new technologies. This also applies to the area of IT security and privacy. In our research, we are exploring how IT security and privacy can be made more inclusive for people with disabilities, particularly focusing on people with intellectual disabilities.
